Hospitality & Tourism Management Trips
Experiential Learning Trips
These trips provide students with meaningful, hands-on experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world hospitality and tourism challenges. Each trip is designed to help students apply their knowledge, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting contribution to the communities and organizations they serve.
Before traveling, students complete pre-trip projects and research to understand the destination, its culture, and the project goals. While in the field, they collaborate with local partners on initiatives such as regenerative tourism development, service training, cultural heritage preservation, event design, and more. Students are expected to engage actively—asking questions, listening, and demonstrating professionalism as representatives of BYU–Hawaii.
These experiences are not tours or vacations but are instead immersive learning journeys that challenge students to think critically, work collaboratively, and grow personally and professionally while contributing to something greater than themselves.
